On behalf of the entire retreat team and the Dallas KOLBE Prison Ministry, I express our thanks to each of the member of the Holy Spirit Parish.
Our first ever Catholic prison retreat in the Dallas Diocese at the Hutchins State Prison on June 26-28, 2015 was a success, both for our brothers-in-white and the team. From the very first moment of the first day, our brothers got with the program right away and it continued from there all through out the retreat weekend. There were many stories that touched our hearts such as one brother has not received communion for a long time out of guilt and after talking with Bishop Deshotel, he received communion that day (his face was glowing after that), another brother went on confession after years out of it, several brothers mentioned that they wanted to join our ministry once they got out. Many brothers from other denominations spoke very highly of our Catholic faith and the way the Catholic ministers conduct their services.
God gave us an opportunity to build His Kingdom here on earth and you provided the support for our activities.
We want to carry everything that we gain from this retreat to all the other activities within the Dallas Kolbe Prison Ministry going forward including future retreats at Hutchins as well as other prisons and other related activities.
Once again, thanks for your generosity and may God bless all of you abundantly with His grace and love.
