Year of Faith Proclaimed
The "Year of Faith" opened Oct. 11th, 2012 and ended Nov. 24, 2013. The opening of the Year of Faith coincided with the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council - also known as "Vatican II". It was a call to all of the faithful to a New Evangelization based upon three foundational pillars: Doctrinal Awareness, Spiritual Renewal, and Evangelization and Witness.
One of the suggestions for adult faith formation during the Year of Faith was for all Catholics to better familiarize themselves with the documents of Vatican II.
